- 5 Step Self Help Groups-These are based on the wisdom of the children and teens Barbara Krovitz-Neren has worked with during the past 35 years, Attachment theory, Mindful Based Stress Reduction, Carl Rogers work, and Adverse Childhood Research Project.
- Training 5 Step Group Leaders to expand and lead this 5 week group.
- Training Parent to Parent Mentors using this model as a more personal approach to supporting parents
All Foundational Parenting Programs are based on the following beliefs:
- Addiction affects parenting and as a result the whole family is affected
- Change can happen and families can reorganize
- Parents can be effective parents even if they have other challenges in their lives
- All family members can learn to live a life not organized around addiction, divorce, mental health challenges and abuse
- Parents can benefit from parent to parent support
How to Implement these Programs:
1. Organizations can contract with Barb Krovitz-Neren to lead these groups at their recovery programs, treatment programs, or community agencies.
2. Organizations can contract with Barb Krovitz-Neren and bring her to their community to train 5 Step Foundational group leaders.
3. Organizations can contract with Barbara Krovitz-Neren to train parent to parent mentors at their own agencies, treatment programs or in the community.
4. Organizations can contract for both trainings: 5 Step Foundational Group Leadership Training and Parent to Parent Mentoring Program.
